ABOUT ME

MADISON SIDES

Madison likes to say she's from "everywhere." She was raised as a military brat, living in multiple states and attending more schools than she can count on two hands. However, the first place she could really call home was Nebraska, where she graduated high school and attended college. Madison is in her second and final year of her master's degree in French Literature at UNL, where she has been recognized multiple times for her poetry and her excellence in French studies. Her writing can be found in Sledgehammer Lit and CERASUS among others, and she currently reads for UNL's literary journal, Prairie Schooner. While in school, Madison has dedicated her work life to serving others; she has worked in the Writing Center, taught with the Nebraska Writers Collective's middle and high school poetry program, and served as the education intern for the Lied Center for Performing Arts. When not reading modern French literature or writing poetry, you can likely find her playing with her roommate's cat, Hootie; listening to Phoebe Bridgers (yes, her Spotify Wrapped did say her top two musical moods were yearning and melancholic); teaching spin classes; and checking Google for the cheapest flights to Paris.
